Canada

Just recently a couple of good friends got in touch with me about setting up a trip to Canada to fish.  Since I'm the one always fishing they are looking to me for advice.  So I'm asking for the advice of all the wise sages on this website, anybody ever been to a certain Lodge or Camp they would recommend?  Were not looking to spend a fortune, but sure its gonna cost us a pretty penny, and also sure we are gonna need a guide. :D

If you want an easy trip for walleye for a week , look up air Tamarac . It's a fly in trip into Quebec cabin , flight in and out .boat mother and gas per 2 fisherman. Approx. .80 a pound weight overage(your allowed 110lbs a piece) we drive about14 -15 hrs from ct to seaplane base. Only 6 cabins on lake and mostly catch and release. Last year 6 of us caught about 1200 walleye and About 75 pike. Good trip for about $1130 per man at 6 guys. Learned not to worry too much about weight as if you forget something there is no way to get. Feel free to contact me for questions. Good luck. Oh yeah , the 1130 is Canadian funds so it's under $900 American plus extras.

Love the place. Been going there for as long as I can remember. Less than an hour from the 1000 islands. They have it all, lodging, 3 meals a day, boats, docks gas, beer, you name it. Average about 145 a night per person.
Equal Billing: Crankbait degrees; Typically, the narrower the bill, the tighter the wiggle; the wider the bill, the wider the wobble.

I have been to all three of these places and would return in a heartbeat to each.   All are drive-in and in remote wilderness areas.

Feel free to ask any questions, I will be going to Wetetnagami in a few weeks and will post a report.

we would probably be driving through Michigan.  Who far would it be from there do you have any idea.  another guy would probably be flying in from Dallas.

Google maps shows that from Porter, IN to Wetetnagami  is 15 hours.  To Poutrincourt it is 18 hours.  Square Tail Lodge is 20 hours.

I drove 18 hours to Square Tail last year and would again.  They have the American plan and you are provided with a guide (you need one, the lake is very tricky).

Wetetnagami and Poutrincourt you can do you own food, which is cheaper, and both lakes are pretty easy to decipher, plus the lodge owners are very helpful in putting you in the right spots.   I think Poutrincourt has the American plan too if you want that.

Square Tail has bigger fish, both walleye and pike, plus Brook trout.  But is is more money too.

All have decent lodging, certainly adequate for Quebec fishing camps.   Their websites will answer all of your questions as well.

Here are the pics from my trip last year:
