As long as there’s foam in the world, ill skip spinning deer hair.

these  are  very easy  flies  to  tie  they  are  not  fancy  but  catch  fish ....  then again i have  used  cigarette   butts  as  poppers and  caught bluegills  when they were on a  good  bite  .....  first  fly   is   green  chenille and  green  deer tail  i   kinda   think it's  a  hopper  caddis   fly ..... RG  easy  foam hopper  i  wouldn't  even  bother to  tie  legs on it  ...suggestion  when  you  use  2 mm  foam i  usually  double  it and  super  glue  it  together  suggestion  2   use   deer "HAIR"  to  spin  not tail  .it's  easier   .......i  tie a lot of  fancy hoppers they  look great in  the  box  but  when  your  just  concerned  about hooking  up   easy patterns  work  great   ...good  luck  catch  fish   gills  are  on  the  bite  get out

one  more thing i  noticed  with  spun  hair  hoppers  is  the  fish   love  the  twitch  like  a  kicking hopper on the  water also remember a  gills  mouth is  smaller  then  a  trouts

Ive been tying this style of fly in various patterns for a long time. It’s a bass and rock bass killer. I suppose the fish think it resembles a small crayfish or something. This one has a peacock body, chain bead eyes and some kind of sparkle fiber head. They can be dubbed bodies, ostrich or just about anything you can think of. The keys I’ve found are eyes, tail ( black seems to work best) and small sili legs.

This one is on a #12, 200R N-Curve hook.

Thought I’d take a whack at an articulated smallmouth fly.

This something I can work on for a while. Ill do a few more and head out for some testing on Thursday.

This mornings fly box.

Went for some stream bass. Caught a bunch of Rockies and 2 unknowns. I’m missing 2 hellgrammites now. Smallies I’d guess.  A bit too much for 5x tippet.

Beautiful morning though.

Nice looking box, great time for some river bass but I am looking forward to some cooler mornings for the trout (without wishing the summer away)

It’s raining here so i replaced a couple of the hellgrammites.

They’re tedious but they really work well.

Hopefully this rain will fire up the creek a bit. I’ll find out tomorrow morning.

I didn't tie these but I am sure looking forward to getting some pike to destroy them.

If anyone has a good 10w rod suggestion I am all ears.
