Try counting fish!
Any more...I seem to zone out early and wake up around 4:00, but, I get my 7-8 hrs every night.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

That was me last night. Had the daughter and family down for supper last night. Made the mistake of a couple cups of coffee with dessert and spent the night listening to the TV all night. I got up at 4:30 so I can go hunt all day to fill a tag or two. I'm getting too old for this. One more day and I can sleep in.

Thanks Bob.
Yea, I never sleep worth a toot.
I will go like this for 3-4 weeks and then crash for 2-3 nights.
Then the cycle starts over again.

I go to bed generally between 9-10pm and reed for about an hour.
Till I cannot hold my eyes open any longer.
Shut off the kindle and then go to sleep.
Well, attempt to go to sleep.
Some nights I might only get 2-3 hrs sleep.
Crazy.
Been like this for years.

I lay there and think of trivial BS.
Like what size hook I should be using for steelhead.
The thickness of the concrete slab we just had poured out at the lake for the new place.
The new boat and how I will rig it.
Etc.
Can't shut it off.

I keep saying it will end when I retire, but I'm sure it won't.
Liquor doesn't work either.
It gets me to sleep at first, but I always wake up after a few hours and then I go through things.

Stupid.

Mac I read that the bright light can cause the problem with sleep , they suggest if I remember correctly, stop about 2 hrs before bed , can’t remember  how I googled it ,

http:// All kinds of devices emit blue light, such as computer screens, cell-phones, smartwatches, tablets and yes, even e-readers like the Kindle. ... Exposure to blue light in the hours before bed inhibits our bodies ability to produce melatonin and affects our circadian rhythm, reducing the quality and quantity of our sleep.Sep 28, 2019

There are glasses on the market to filter blue light from LED screens of all types. I know that being on the iPad or watching our LED tv for very long bothers my eyes and can give me a headache.

You guys are killing me.
My bride has had a FitBit that tells you all your sleep patterns.
Well she made me put it on every night  for two weeks.. She recorded every night of what was going on and on an average..
I got 35mins of REM sleep.  Not good..
Im restless for 4 hours every night..
And when im just laying there tossing and turning i have to get out of bed and either get a drink off water, shine the spotlight out back , check the temp, and take a pee..
I do watch  TV till i roll over but that's after the weather on local news maybe 11:10. But am also out of bed at 5:30 or earlier.. :(
The body will adjust to your routine.
The mind is always going.
When i have to get up early to go fishing and actually set an alarm i wake up 5 mins before it goes off .
 Change your routine mac.
And dont look at the clock every time you roll over and count the minutes..
OK DR Dom is done.    JMO....   8)

A little electric lettuce before bed might make for sweet dreams!

Yup - when I retire.
Jobsites and random checks on the job won't allow for this.
But I agree.

Last night I didn't read.
And I only read 2-3x a week.
But I have trouble sleeping every night.

I'll sleep when I die.

In bed and asleep at 7:00 last night, up at 3:45. Got up once , but I drink a LOT of water. ( had one kidney stone in my life.....don't intend to have another)
I never adjust to the stupid Daylight Savings Time changes. Summer time I'll be in bed at 8:00 or so and up around 5.

My best suggestion would be an exercise routine every day and eat dinner early if you can. My Bride and I eat around 5pm. Although I don't do my morning walks in this cold weather, I still do a light weight workout and stretching every morning. I also get in 6-8 miles in the store every day cruising around helping customers. Keeping your weight down also helps. I dropped 40 lbs a few years back and it just makes me feel a whole lot better.

We all have to change with age.

I won't go to bed at 7.....or 8.
Sorry.

But I've lost 42 lbs so far since late July.
(Donna has lost 90!!!!!!)
Also try to hit the gym 1-2 times a week, but I'm not religious about it.
In the better weather I go for walks with Donna and the dog - generally 1.5-2 miles.
Not so much in the snow however.
I wear a fitbit and track my steps when I'm not stuck here at home at my desk.
When on jobsites I always go over 10k steps but often as high as 15-16k.
This is at least 1-2X a week typically.
The cruise is coming up in March and Sunday we were talking about getting back into the walking more in spite of the snow.
I hate walking in the snow.
Many people don't shovel their walk and then we have to walk in the road.
I'm always afraid of getting popped by a car.

I don't walk as much as you Bob, but I have been more conscious about it the past 2 yrs or so.

I still don't sleep well.

Well, I live without the stress of solving the problems of people who don't know how to wipe their .........nose.
Be careful walking out there in the snow. You need to stay in tact so I can visit and occupy a seat on your boat for a couple days......when you're in FLA.

Think good thoughts!
