Yes I was thinking it was bacterial related, thus no swimming. Meanwhile I was taking spray to the face while out in the 3-4 footers.  :w00t:  Never came down with the associated diarrhea and skin rashes.  :thumbup_smilie:

A couple of years ago when the blue algae was real bad my Dad came down with a bad sore throat after an afternoon of fishing. Now it could have just been all the beer and cigars, but he blames the algae.

We all know the algae has been there for years, but they just started monitoring for harmful algae and closing beaches because of it since around 2012. It freaks a lot of people out but I don't recall ever getting a rash from it. I think there's a lot more dangerous stuff you can do than swim in a lake.
shut up and fish

I agree, there are a lot worse things out there. But as I sat at a class reunion dinner Saturday night, my class mate (not a fisherman) who has a camp on Oneida warned me not to go. He had me second guessing my decision. After listening to this guy I half expected the launces to be shut down. I went anyway......... ;)

BTW Marion is 10 smackers a dunk now.  :o   If we didn't have that stiff east wind I would have launched elsewhere.

Well I finally got out today with the coach , tough start wind was a little stiff out of the east , we tried jigging we managed 3 , so we decided to troll ended up landing 13 eyes total , 4 of our keepers were 19-191/2 " with a 171/2  and a 161/2 , most of the fish came on spoons of lead core
We had to work for them, but here they are ;D

Good job guys.  I'm headed to the big lake tomorrow and then headed out on vacation.  Maybe hit Oneida when I get back.
