Blue Duck,
It's going to get loud with three Yankees coming to fish the Snake (south & henry) in september. Is alot of the irrigation draw over by the first week or is it later when they start backing things up? We've got 8 days out there so we want to see some great places. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Fish it

I will have to reply to myself... Idaho and the snake river is some of the prettiest country in the world. The Tetons are amazing. why do I live in over taxed NY? Amazing fishing and great people. when I figure how to post pics. I will send pictures of the 3 species I knocked off my life list while I was there. Fiespot cutts,Yellowstone cutts, and a river run male Sockeye salmon. what a surprise he was. I thought i would have to wait for Alaska to get him. The Swan Valley section of the S.Fork is amazing and I could spend a month fishing only there.

the ice just came off so its still a little muddy, but here in a week or 2 it should be killer!

How is the fishing on the Snake during the winter low flows? Seems that it would be a great fishery in January/February.. Any info?

Upper or lower? You can get some steelhead on the lower snake around that time.

theres hundreds of miles of snake in id and its all different water from dam to dam! a wide variety fish too! its probably by far my favorite river i have ever fished!
-
below the American falls dam is a great perch and bass fishery along with trout, chub, carp, catfish, sturgeon, suckers, and crawdads.
i love Idaho, so many opportunities for an outdoor experience.

hats off to the snake! idaho is a great place to be! :clapping:

For about the last 10 years my father in-law and I have ben taking trips out west. we try to go every other year, the opposite years we head to our favorite bass/pike spot in Quebec...But of the 5 different spots we've hit ... Idaho ,the South and Henry's fork are by far the most intriguing... Great place to be...you guys should wake up and smile knowing that you are living in God's playground...
Jealous in NY...
