Have  big pot of chicken stock working on the stove. I’ll use some to make chicken and dumplings for dinner.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Tried my luck making General Tso chicken. Taste was okay but I’ll keep to ordering it out going forward.

It looked tasty.
But where is the broccoli?
Oh yea, and the little dried red chilies?

Was short on time, so didn’t fry the rice or steam broccoli. And didn’t even think about the dried chili, that’s the best part.

All the more reason to pick up the phone and wait 20 minutes for the professionally made stuff.

Our local Chinese restaurants have gotten ridiculous on their prices.  I decided I was going to keep experimenting with recipes until I can recreate my family's favorites. So far I have several that are pretty much spot on. Crab ragoons, beef and broccoli, Wonton soup and general tso. Still working on lo mein and sweet and sour sauce, just can't seem to get them right.

Tried my kraut today . It's been fermenting for almost 3 weeks. Taste is very good and still crunchy ( is that normal ? ). I might lightly fry some up tomorrow.

My personal opinion is that kraut should be crunchy

5 boneless ribeyes on the Weber tonight.
Some were tender, others not so.
Same store, 2 different pkgs.
1 pkg good, the other not so good.
Sucked.

It's my grandson's bday next Monday but they are down here with us, and we decided to celebrate today.
(They leave Sunday)

The cake and ice cream was good.

CJ said his steak was good - kid never complains.

I'm upset they weren't all good.
