Title: Time to come back to Myfishfinder.com!
Post by: taxid on Mar 16, 2019, 11:03 AM
Not sure about the local lakes but my four ponds are wide open as of two days ago! The worst that can happen is they will skim over once or twice. A Great Blue Heron has already been by to see if there is any action.

Nope.

Not solid.

Everything in it would die and there'd be massive flooding upstream.

Only a top coat.

And out west it's opening up.

We still got ice around here but I'm not feeling safe about walking on it. I had buzzards flying around my town all weekend and robins hunting worms in my back yard. I'm in all out spring mode. I charged my batteries and packed up the ice gear and dug out the soft water gear. Just gotta wait out the melt off!

Winter doesn't want to give up here. We get a couple nice days that melt the snow cover then cold and more snow. I need a few good days above freezing to get my boat ready for a trip to Ohio in a couple weeks. Spring is trying to get here, but it's taking a sweet time.

PS. How about a bounty on that d**n wood chuck in Pa. Early spring my butt. >:(

The Turkey vultures just showed up in big numbers here in Letchworth Park. I've noticed one or two off and on over the winter, but the big group just arrived. So close.

We got 8 to 12 inches yesterday  over here in Vermont, I'm sure there's more in the hills.

Ice fished yesterday,  for the last time, this season  it's getting ugly still 15"  of solid  ice with 4" of corn ice, but we lost about 8" in only a week, old holes are scary and spider webbed, I'm too old to push the issue, went out on a high note, time to prepare for the salt

good eats there Roccus :thumbup_smilie:
Real good eats, boss lady takes the crappie and spreads a layer of crabmeat  and  cracker crumbs then roll them and pins them with a tooth pick, she rolls them in panko crumbs and bakes them until golden brown,..served with asparagus and a nice salad. And life is good!
