FishHawk Thermo Troll Help
« on: Jul 09, 2006, 07:30 PM »
I bought a used boat about 3 weeks ago and it came with a FishHawk ThermoTroll 840.  However it didn't come with a manual-so I'm  not excatly sure how to the use the thing properly.  It looks pretty straight forward.  where do you clip the unit?  On your downrigger wire?  Ball?  Mine appears to be run on a 9 volt battery.   How accurate is the speed on those things?  Is there a way to calibrate it?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  if someone has a manual they could photcopy for me or evan fax to me I would forever be in your debt.

Thanks

Thestanimal,
1.  Attach the probe just above your downrigger weight.  To calibrate our probe, put it down 1 foot and troll.  Use your GPS speed over groud to calibrate it.  There are adjustments on the back of the monitor unit.  You should have an adjustment tool that came with your unit.  I will see if I still have my manual, I will copy it and get it to you.
