« on: Jul 19, 2014, 10:37 PM »
Had 4 poles stolen out of my boat while it was parked on pier at cottage
1 bass pro micro light 7ft  6 in w Zebco micro reel
1 bass pro micro light 8ft  6 in w Zebco  reel
1 bass pro micro light 8ft  6 in w hyper cast reel without trigger arm
1 red ryno casting pole with ambassador bait cast reel.
Sorry guys I had to vent one pole was my late fathers. This happened on Eagles island on Lake James upper basin before snow.

Sad thing is they said they got hooked on pier when I came out and I walked down pier and saw poles were missing and I told him to come here and they split they were like 20 ft away from me but it was pitch black

That stinks. Hopefully you reported it. Hopefully maybe they got caught and possibly you could get them back. Huge inconvenience for sure. I remember back in the 70s small motors were getting ripped off.

Sorry to hear that. Just goes to show you cant trust anyone anymore. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood but I still have to lock everything up just for peace of mind and I never leave anything in my boat. Not even the anchors or oars lol.

This was at a nice area of James but when it gets dark you never know who will come putting across the lake. For those of you who went through this I know how you feel and those who haven't I hope you never do. Lesson learned.

Feel for you loss as I still fish with a couple of my dads old rods.

With electric motors it is no problem for some one to sneak around a lake and steal stuff off of boats.

A few years ago thieves got over 150 batteries and gas tanks over the Memorial Day week end off the Hardy Dam pond in Michigan. We lost a few on our private lake. My gas can and battery are always locked up. I do not leave any thing else on the boat.
