................. I never anchor off the rear of my boat.

Good advice!!
Off the bow first, allowing the boat to swing the nose pointed in the current (wind).
Stern anchors should only be used as a secondary anchor to stop swinging of the boat while fishing.

I saw those guys watching their boat get towed in when I was launching last night. Didn't get the whole story though. Scary stuff.

Icejohn, I've been doing best with the sticks during the day in around 10fow near the deeper drops (north and south shore)but after dark I've gotten them right up to shore. The amount of bait in 20+ fow off the break is nuts right now. I was marking it cruising at 30mph. It's that thick.
Thanks for the advice.....hopefully will try it...just gotta get somebody that's not working to go with me during the week.

take a kid hunting and fishing, it's a lot better than leaving them on the streets!!

I snuck out in the boat with my mom and son for a little over an hour tonight. We picked up a few keeper eyes and even dodged the rain.

Nice quick trip, reeleyz.

This weather forecast has me a bit bummed. Real good bite right now, I'd hate to be shut in this weekend.

I agree Chowdaire. It is crazy how we go from no rain for days to rain every day. This weather might kick start that shore bite though.

Hopefully the bite stays good until we get ice. The fall bite is my favorite, no traffic and hungry walleyes.

Well with the way the wind was blowing tonight. Filet&release and I decided to cross the mason dixon line and fish the south shore a little.  :-* Found some nice fish too. ;D We ended up with 5 keepers and threw back 2 eyes that were 21" and 2 that were 22"  :flex:

Well done guys!

That wind helped for sure. Got out for a half hour well before sunrise and picked up 3 keepers. Sitting in a tree now waiting for some turf to go with my surf.  ;D

Great fish, guys. I got a couple of 18's Friday night in pretty short order but didn't see anything big like that.

I got up early yesterday and hauled the boat up to the big o. Tried trolling for salmon in the mouth of a tributary. Just completely guessing because I've never salmon fished before but God bless beginners' luck. Tussled with 6 kings in 3 hours. Only boated one thanks to a couple of popped leaders and forgetting the big net but it was fun anyway. Hope I get one more shot and doing that this season.
