Town of Inlet fishing
« on: Aug 19, 2022, 06:29 AM »
A bud invited me to come down and stay with them a few days where they have a cottage in inlet???. I forgot the main lake, but think 4th I can get to pretty easy. Gonna bring the yak's and do some top water fly fishing for Pike and Bass. Any suggestions, clues, hints info for the area and time of year?  :o :o
PM if needed, leaving monday and staying for a few days.
TY

Yeah take the yaks through the channel to 5th lake early in the morning and catch rainbows.  Lots of big bass in there also.  And don’t forget to eat and drink  at Matt’s draft house and pizza at   Screaming eagle… ;D

For pike 3rd lake would be your best bet.

Killer info, was gonna hit 5th due to the lack of boat traffic, IDK about the bows, might take a few spinning rods with some metal lures???
Matt's 100% have to see how far it is away from the cottage and see if we have a DD
I will look into 3rd on some maps, I imagine they are all pretty close for being a chain?
Still gonna bring the 10wt fly rod and some big fresh and salt water poppers  :D :D :D love that action

Hard to find 5th on any maps, is it just that small? I know my buddy knows where it is, and I can get to it from 4th. Looks like I can paddle to 3rd from where we are on fourth. Looks like mostly bass?? Saves me from running a titanium leader, might just run some heavier fluorocarbon in 10-12lb range.

There is no up in geography. Only North, South, East & West. :whistling:

Hey, Mac just want to wish you and your lovely bride all the best in this next chapter.

Tough crowd, been having guest over since friday making fish tacos from erie and playing some bocce ball, then sat fired up the smoker for some family in town. Might need a 12 step program. Just trying to plan this thing out at the last moment.

Those lakes up in Inlet are killer Rich.
I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's when the acid rain had pretty much killed them.
Things got turned around and today they are back to how they should be.
Have fun up there buddy.
If you're ever in SW Florida give me a shout.
Cell phone is still the same.
Say hi to Becky for me.
(Still don't know why she has kept you around for all these years)   ;)

Had a awesome trip, fishing was no slam dunk. Caught the best #'s on 3rd and 5th lakes. Had a decent pike on and lost it, I'd say high 30's. Fished all top water except for at night for the cali's, did not catch some of the pigs, but saw some fish in the 16 inch class caught right next to me. Nice to see the kids get some whopper panni's. Odd how the fish migrate at night from lake to lake once the sun starts to go down.
Good food, paddling company and scenery.
Last not made the paddle from 3rd the inlet and thought my arms were gonna fall off, good think I stopped at Daikers for an early dinner and fluids.
Had some doughnuts from some place in town WOW.

Yup Rich, you aren’t an English teacher.

 ;)

Glad you guys had fun.
Say hi to Becky for Donna and I.
Go stop at the house and say high to Jeff.
He owns it now.

And get your fat a$$ down here at some point for some snook and redfish action.
