those who waste bowfins are wasting one of the best eating fish in fresh water i will put them against walleye any time and i have had both

I think you  guys  are  getting  burbots  and  bowfins  mixed  up  ...bowfins  have never been  considered a  prized fish  by  anything accept seagulls and  raccoons .....
I use  them  for  trapping  bait  ......if  animals  are  really really hungry they will eat them

if the average man  spreads his hand as far as he  can  from tip of pinky to tip of thumb is app 9 inches ......that being said  unless RG has  hands  like  coots  have  feet that sun fish  is  about 8  inches  ......  that being  said   once  filleted  it  will taste  exactly  the  same  as a  10 incher .....
 
I  often  use  my  hand  as a  quick way  to measure a  fish also a  dollar  bill is  6 inches long  so  ... 1  and  a  half dollar  bills long is a  legal  crappie ....3  dollar  bills  is  a legal  walleye  in 18 inch water ..... I know  it  sounds  crazy  but  I have  lost or  forgot my tape  measure  so many times  I  seven  mark my rod  ......

now  bluegill  when are  you inviting  me  and  RG  to  fish that lake  with  you

I have xxl hands trap. Can't wear xl gloves. I'm saying closer to 9 1/2. And I already know how to filet gills
