Panfish Maniacs !!!!!

As I grew up near oneida lake my grandfather had me on the water alot
mainly fishing for walleye...I was always into fast pace fishing and would jump out of the truck to fish the dock before he could get the
boat in the water sometimes I could catch 5-6 nice sunnies and gills
when I got my drivers license I would travel all over new york and fish .bluegill and crappie in mind I found some great fishing
I mainly would fish thru the ice for them then know where to head in the spring...my heart belongs to oneida and walleye fishing
but think this season I'll be back on panfish ...walleye are a fun target but outsmarting 3 fish seems to be getting old

wow bigbluegill I think mrs  bigbluegill has one nice  fish! and the nest is awesome too  we have  2 pairs that nest within a few miles of my house ....  thanks for sharing

Yeah, Trap we caught quite a few nice ones that day.  Obviously, gills are my favorites.  Although, calicos are a close second  The guy up in Ontario I'm fishing with this spring for crappies says he has a lake where the gill fishing will blow my mind.  I may have to make a return trip up there the first week of June.

What are some of your favorite ice out techniques for perch? Was thinking about dragging minnows bullhead style. Got a spot we were killing the perch before the ice was shot. They were in 30 ft. Tried some of your tricks you guys told me about last year for the gills. Think I need more practice    Got to figure out the whole jig below the bobber. I tried it a lot last spring and didn't have much luck. How did that blue crank bait work on the crappies?

drop shot jigging  ....... or a  duel rig with a  big jig on bottom for  eyes anda smaller  jig a  foot and a half above  for perch
