Thanks icejohn.. I spend quite a bit of time and effort planning my attacks on the panfish after the ice isn't safe to venture out on. I do have quite the cicle of fishing friends that spans about 10 counties which never hurts either. My friends and I put thousands of miles chasing fish around all year and wouldn't trade it for the world. Crappie fishing prob runs a close second for me after ice fishing which is my favorite thing to do. Not even my favorite fish to eat by any means but there's just something about catchin them that keeps me chasing em down 🎣🎣

Even my buddy pequod the jig n bobber thief  will tell ya.. We do what we come to do when when we come to do it and that's a fact! We have a lot of fun when we are out and that's what really matters. Fishing with good friends, making memories is what it's all about. Just think 23 days or so and the livewell will be stuffed with eyes again. Yeah new york taxes n laws n regs suck but there's no denying we have some serious hunting and fishing for those who take full advantage of the resources. 4 seasons and we can fill the freezers during every single one of them..

 A certain body of water people think SUCKS.. I love it cause I hammer the fish there and have it all to myself (for the most part) cause people dont want to apply themselves..

I just get lucky every once in a blue moon as far as crappies go.  But it does help to know where and when. And the “when” part is the trick.  I have to get back in to the perch fishing soon.  I know I am missing out on them but this time of year, crappies first.
