so how do you get those tiny flies down to the bottom where the fish are.   if you don’t have a fly rod

takes forever

sklighest breeze will ride them up if you are in a boat or kayak

I fished a fingerlake I haven’t been to in ten plus years yesterday.  The fingers are tough to fish with wind direction from the south running the full length of the lakes but if you get a lighter wind they are well worth it. Once I figured this lake out, it was game on. Laker, largemouth, bullhead, rockies, huge sunfish, and of course perch. It was an epic day.

Nice slab!!!!

well i had no beads at rv camp so i made up some leaded mop jigs .

i will see how those work.

61 degrees in union springs marina top water.    very few gills yet.    some smallish 6 inch perch out in main lake.    not much signs of lake weeds yet

I’m not familiar with the south end of Cayuga. But, I like the 25-30’ water this time of year through the summer on the north end.  Check out that depth on the south end. It might hold some perch.

Nice looking jigs for "whatchagot" .....ought to work well.

The cottonwood plague is in full swing in the canal. Makes it nearly impossible to troll or fly fish. Guess I'm headed for the stream.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Yes the cottonwood is a pain  in the hook plus high muddy water. What's a guy to do?(Fish with a nymph)

Thanks for the info!  I have been mostly trolling so far this spring.

Got the big hairy skunk today. Tried to hit 4 of my spots on the canal from shore. People everywhere. Canal was loaded with cottonwood crap.

Finally gave up no mowed the lawn.

At least that's done.

I hate fishing weekends for that reason.  Mowed the lawn, visited my grandson.  Monday and Tuesday look great.
