Where were you? I ventured out to Winona today. Not a single walleye to be had. Gave up and fished for gill. fire831 and I brought back 22 nice ones. But I need some professional help on catching those toothy bas****s. Sorry to have missed you, but you were probably tearing them up at Brookeville. ;D

Just got back from a walleye tournament on Lake of The Woods in Bremen,took 6th place outta 15 boats,my first time there,awful small fish there,but there were several keepers caught,Im fishing Winona next month in the Hoosier walleye tournament series,I've never been there either,what I usually do is get a map of the Lake with the contours and find the breaks and fish them hard,if you didnt live so dad gone far north,I'de get ya out down here and show ya a trick or two ;),

If its a sand or rocky area a jig-n-crawler is best,if weedy,bottom bouncer with a floater and crawler or a leech,hope this helps,

Season prediction, Purdue finishes in top 5 and plays in a BCS game, favorable schedule and excellent receivers. If Painter is good, doesn't have to be great, watch out for Purdue. Purdue finished strong with Painter as a starter in the last 3 games, nice 3 game winning streak. We may not have went to a bowl but we still won the bucket, it still holds water, right????

One more thing, how come the majority of hoosiers (with the exception of crappie66 & the kid) like out of state football teams? Oh yeah I gotta throw this in, I cheer for the maize $ blue of Michigan in the fall. Go Blue.

Sorry to get the "hey jimmy" thread off topic. So I have a question for the walleye man. What's the best way to target eyes in a shallow river? Deepest hole around 8-9 ft with sandy rocky bottom. I know they are there, I just catch them on accident bottom fishing for cats.

Depending on the current,take a jig-n-crawler,and make sure you are in contact with the bottom,drag it around,if the walleyes are in there they will pick that jig up,hope this helps,

A majority of them are bandwagon fans, and by the way this is the Boilermaker state, not the Hoosier state, I refuse to be referred to as a hoosier.
Sadly, I think the kid will have bragging rights between all of us. With their new coach and the infamous "luck of the Irish" they will be a strong team.
The Irish won't be very good next season, they had a medicore year last seasn beating only teams with losing records. Weis hasn't proven himself yet, he had the same first year success that Willingham had, using Willingham's recruits, so we don't even know how well Weis can recruit. Brady Quinn is not Heisman material, his short 5 yard slant passes aren't what makes a Heisman, he will get exposed this year, teams are onto his short passes. Realistically ND is a 5 loss team. Purdue, UCLA, USC, Michigan, Standford, Michigan State all will probably beat ND, and Georgia Tech might have a shot at them too. If you think otherwise, go to the media and ask them politely for your balls back.

Alright Arch, We have another MI fan backing me up. I agree I don't think that Quinn is heisman quality. I think the receivers he had last season gave him the hype. Stovall got drafted didn't he? The only person I don't mind on ND is Jeff Samardzija only because in HS I played against him for 3 yrs in a row. He went to Valpo and I was at another DAC high school. ND vs OSU for the championship rico? haha That's a good one. :rotflol:

i played for michigan in '96 all be it a prop 48 and lost my scholarship and had to drop to a D2 school but have any of you played at a collegiate level? notre dame will be lucky to win 8 games next year, they are so bad they had to make a special rule for them to get into bowl games ;D :tipup:
in a way i like notre dame, i am only second generation irish, hence the name archbishop, after archbishop walsh, my last name and the name of a school in my hometown but allegiance goes to where i went to school, even though im not the calliber player, i was pick to go to UM with woodson, the heisman winner, alot of pride in that, ecspesially when i was in the secondary with him :tipup:

Arch, I envy you so much man. That's too bad about it not working out, but you must of been a helluva player to be in the secondary with Woodson. That is something to take alot of pride in. The closest I got to Michigan was a lineman camp with their scouts and talked to a few but I just didn't get big enough. I was fast though. I doubt anyone on here played on a collegiate level. Man we need to go fishing sometime and talk U of M and catch some fish bud.

i was in the same clas as tom brady as well, although i actually hung out with woodson, i was faster also ;D i ran a 4.2 40. brady and woodson were just like me back then just kids with dreams, my downfall was my own fault, no one to blame but me, then got into too much partying in D2 out in PA and got a girl knocked up, same story as 1,000 kids out there that could have been, now were just a bunch of al bundy's and hank hills living on high school dreams ??? but i was a player for a year until i went to mansfield, lol probably the worst school in D2

I don't bash the slant, but it will be picked up on this year. That was Purdue's whole system during the Brees days, but guess what, teams picked up on it, and it wasn't as successful.

It couldnt be that they just didnt have the right personnel to run it could it? ;D I just dont trust Michigan these days. It seems that Lloyd just aint getting the job done anymore. Ohio St will be hurting on the defensive side, but they should be an offensive juggernaut. Notre Dame will once again score points all they need is some defensive improvement. Hopefully Purdue makes a marked improvement, because I am tired of all this Tiller bashing. Geez, the guy brings the program out of the ashes to national prominence and lot of the fans just arent satisfied! Hopefully my Vols can show some improvement this year, one area would help....try winning those close games. And at least we wont have a Claussen at qb this year!!!!!
