Finally got out this morning.  Caught these before the rains came.  It felt good to get out and wet a line again.

Well guys made it out tonight in that gail force winds caught 16 crappie 2 huge rock bass and one gill all on minnows. I missed at least 20 good crappie d**n things just wouldnt take it the right way

Were you using jigs or minnows. Two weeks ago I had trouble with minnows until I started hooking them in the back with a light wire #4 hook. Made all the difference in the world - and in the frying pan. (Steelhead for dinner tonight!)

in the last month i think i have cleaned 200 crappie that might be a low number my freezer is full haha i'm going in the a.m. to see if i cant get a few more its way to addicting to stop now. I have been using a number 6 gold eagle claw hook aberdeen with 2 split shots a slip bobber and a crappie minnow hooked thru the back once that minnow stops swimming around i wont get a bite i will go thru 2 dozen minnows in 2 hours easily. I'm fishing in about 4 foot of water and i have my bobber set at about a foot down is all when the crappie takes i let them run for about 10 to 15 sec then gently set the hook thats my technique dont know how anybody else does it. I have tried jigs didnt work tried my ice fishing jigs didnt work the only really think that has worked is a plain hook. I baught some Yo-Zuri line the other day and love it 4 lb test cant see it at all i would highly recomend trying it if you havnt already.

I made it out at sunrise this morning with my buddy fish were bitting really good for about an hour then really slowed off till about 11:30. We got our limits 50 total. It was an awesome morning cant wait to get back out and do it again.

not even close! the water is very clear and very shallow i bet i saw at least 1000 crappie today thats no joke. and well over 3000 to 4000 gills
