Finished my job on the island and began a new one today in the heart of my stomping grounds as a kid. The old timer building this home was talking about how he loved to catch Brook Trout and fry them up for dinner and then again with eggs for breakfast. However he no longer can physically do it. I told him “ be right back with five” I think he thought I was kidding :D he was pretty excited!

Nothing wrong with keeping a few fish. From my personal experience brook trout don't have very long lifespans anyway. Most of my cultured brook trout don't make it past 3 years.

What do you attribute this to Taxi?? Say compared with a Brown or Brookie?? Is it the char aspect?? The Lake trout seem to live forever though?? Interesting.

Not sure. I do know there are Canadian strains that live longer, but for some reason it holds for planted brook trout.

Interesting, so not only is it that the Canadian fish see less interaction with humans, they just physically live longer to grow to those great sizes. Thanks!

Yeup! When you need to make it happen you throw a eagle claw spinner on with some garden hackle and you’re done in minutes. Not my preferred method or my thing per say but, I knew it was how I could get what I wanted and be right back lol

Didn’t bother clicking the pics in ny they aren’t stocking 6” brookies lol and if they did you wouldn’t be allowed to fish it would be a rebuilding program my bad you guys aren’t as funded as ny for stockings lol you guys call kill all the stockies you want yummm trout poop n concrete

Going great it’s good to educate the clueless like the people on this board from time to time, you guys must be mad you don’t know the pond location on my friends farm, crappies aren’t an invasive species... idiots.... good thing you fools have zero clue that you can fill out a 25$ permit and stock fish in any ny lake LEGALLY.... and here’s another one for massholes you can transport your bait to any state with a simple wholesaler permit that you fools have no clue about!!! My point proven you idiots can sit on the computer all day and TRY to troll while I’ll still be out fishing 2ce a day 7 days a week.... jokers

In my opinion, a native fish is one that’s lineage came from fish that were never stocked. I realize they’ll be many that will debate what native is ,but at this time the damage is irreversible. If you’re into catch and release than have at it, if you chose to keep your limit ,you paid for it and it’s your choice.
