My grates are recycled from old gas grills. I just stack them I'm my grill and crank up the heat to burn them off then after wire brushing I spray with cooking oil. However with nice shiny chrome I used to put them into a heavy garbage bag with a little Dawn dish soap and water and leave in the sun for a couple hours. They hose clean without much work.

I just fill the sink with hot water and Dawn and let them soak for a little while. They clean up really well. A spritz of cooking spray prior to smoking helps with the cleanup.

Yup
I spray mine too
But they won’t fit in my sink out here.
Donna suggested the bath tub
I did that and made a freekin mess of the tub.  Lol
Thought maybe oven cleaner might be the answer and then hose them off in the lawn.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Here’s the burnt ends
The roast for the pulled pork are wrapped and resting.
I’ll post a pic of them later.

Gonna have to try that one Mac.

Picked up an A-maz-in oval 12" smoke tube today and a 20 lb bag of Pit Boss apple pellets to try. Can't wait to smoke up some eggs, almonds, cheese and whatever else I can think of.

Thanks Doubles Shooter!

Tried the smoke tube tonight. Cooked some cauliflower in parchment paper and an angus sirloin center cut on the Weber. Filled the tube and added a really nice light smoke to everything. This thing has real possibilities.

That's the great thing about the tube. It was designed to work in gas and charcoal grills. You can cold smoke too. I see cheese and eggs in your future.

My son suggested smoked pickles and jalapeños.

We take turns making appetizers for out neighborhood Thursday evening happy hour. Today I'm making smoked venison sausage 3 cheese meatballs with onion and jalapeños........wrapped in bacon.

Might have to slather some with BBQ sauce.

Did some Italian sausage meatballs on the Weber a couple weeks ago. Hey we're a big hit. This time I'll add some smoke.
