A little Smallie Action
« on: Mar 27, 2007, 11:21 AM »
Had to wet the line the other day.  So I took Mom out on the river.  Bites a little slow yet but them buggers are rather large for this time of year.

Great fish. We usually get a good bit of them just as the buds are swelling

That's another one I haven't done mooter.....Am I gonna have to come down there and let you teach me to catch bass?

This spot is 8 minutes from the house.  It's a walk-in area that has fairly limited traffic.  We usually take the petal bikes in and fish till dusk.  Awesome spot after work.  Also buddy, Dad's got a large mouth pond in the back yard.  $8 feet deep and holding 3 to 4 five pounders a day.  Late summer is the best.  Let me know.

Sounds like I'll be there late summer....is that when the smallies are good? Got a trek to ride, but I don't know how we'll get the beer in?? can you float it?

Ya but there is several sections you have to get out and pack.  Canoe is the best but I always feel a little 'Elton John" in a canoe.  It's only about a mile ride from where you park.  12 pack a piece in sweat in a pack.

Elton John in a canoe.......I'm sure the answer is yes but are smallies good to eat? How do you like to prepare 'em?

I prefer to release them and go burn a steak.  Go to keep those home waters stocked

Soon we will be slamin them here.Nice fish.
Since there is six times as much water as there is land any man can plainly see that the good lord intended for man to fish six times as much as he works-
