early morning crappie around docks?

would early morning dock fishing be a good idea this time of yr in nw indiana?...water temp is in the mid forties in the main part of lake as of last wk....tried the docks after drifting the lake w/o success but it may have been a tad late by then....steve

try finding a few warm water discharges were there me be a culvert or some type of water flowing out of a shallow marsh and try toset your self up on the edge of the drop in front of it crappies will usally stage in spots like that waiting just on the edge for that water temp to click for they can make that shallow water dash, this should works out for you.crappies do relate a lot to docks for the shade and a place to hang but i think it my still be a tad bit cold but if you are to pass them i wouldnt pass them i would try them.bill
