just curious but do you need a NY license as well as the saltwater registry  to fish the river near newburg.

I live in PA but within an hour of the river and was thinking of giving it a try.  would a 17.5 foot Bass boat be good enough.  I know it is some big water down there.

thanks in advance.... ;D

I think its just the saltwater registry, but I have both, so I am not positive.

A 17 footer is plenty of boat. Alot of us fish them out of 14 footers.

Good luck out there, but be careful. If you hook one you will quickly become an addict. Your wife will never see you again.  ;)

Yup, just a saltwater registry. Here's the link.

The strippers left the clubs to go striper fishing because the striper run has been so hot.

I havent had a chance to go yet but have been teased with a bunch of pictures.  Looks like a solid run so far.

Got 6 yesterday with one keeper. Lost about 6 more. Sorry I'm having trouble with my phone and it has a stranglehold on my pics.  I don't fish the Hudson a lot but I went with a guy who lives on it for the whole striper season. He says it is the best season in years.

Got my picture problem straightened out.  Here are a couple from May 6th.  I did manage to catch one that was legal and put him on the barbeque,  mmmmmmmm!

Nice fish! What size is legal? How many can you keep?
