New State Record Catfish
« on: Jun 29, 2012, 11:08 AM »
I finally broke a state record.  The official weight was 35 lbs 14.7 oz, its was 41 inches long and had a girth of 26.5 inches.
I caught the fish yesterday morning and just submitted the paper work today so Im not in the books yet but will be soon.

After many pictures the old girl was set free

I also have the whole battle and the release on video that I will be posting later.

Congratulations!!! I saw a channel cat on the St. Lawrence last weekend that had to be pushing the NY state record of 32 lbs. The thing was just ridiculously big. Once again congrats on the state record! Not many people can say they have one.

nice catch, there are some big ones in there, a guy caught one from shore next to my wife's family's camp last year over 20 pounds with a small piece of steak
