Crawlers and Worms
« on: Apr 28, 2005, 08:52 PM »
Attention Worm seekers.  I think I might have stumbled onto something here last night!!  The farm that I "Control" :whistling: the Woodchuck population on just tilled the soil for this years crops.  I went out after our little rain and was amazed at the amount of worms and Crawlers that were out.  A bunch of them were in loose soil and very easy to remove.  If you have a farm around it might be worth the stop to seek permission to pick up some bait.  I cannot stress the importance of being in presentable clothes when approaching a farmer requesting permission.  It seems to me that a clean pair of jeans and shirt goes a long way in showing them that your a responsible person.  Never know, he just might have a problem with Deer or Turkeys that he might need help controlling  :thumbup_smilie:  I now have over 1500 acres at my disposal for Hunting Woodchucks, Deer, and Turkey's now, not to mention all the dirt fields filled with $2.75 a dozen Crawlers.

Good luck everyone.
Steve

PS...Respect the farmers and do not trespass.

That is definitely the best way.  I have a pretty large garden and after I till the soil I can usually get my seasons worth of crawlers on the first night.  They do get smarter as the summer wears on.
