If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

If you have access to a welder, an old steel auto or truck wheel with an upright pipe welded in the center and a mounting plate on top makes a great pedestal stand.  ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
The brook trout is the prom queen of the trout world, and a promiscuous prom queen at that!

The recycling place near me sells old rims cheap. You might want that spare tire for your van some day ;D

x2  We have used this trick with lots of small tools in our machine shop on the family farm. Everything from grinders and wire wheels to vices mounted so we can move them near whatever equipment we are working on. Stable and heavy enough that they don't tip over or move, but light enough that you can tip them a little and roll them around the shop on the edge of the rim.
Do you think fish go home and lie about all the bait they stole?

Early to bed, early to rise
Fish all day and make up lies...

There's a reason they call it fishing, not catching.

The next chess set in the making.

I'm going for a simple, functional design on this one. These pieces will be for the wall hung board.

Made some progress on the wall hung chess board. Got a bunch of pieces cut up this afternoon and started playing with how it's gonna go together.

I'm still thinking about what the storage will look like. Kind of a design as you build sort of a thing.

Made some more progress this morning.
Got all my tiles sanded and treated with pre stain conditioner.

Glued up the back section and one side. Then I started dry fitting the shelves to check my dimensions.

Two more knights to turn then it's on to the pawns.
So far ....so good ;D

Me too ;D

Started on the pawns this afternoon. Got the back rank coated with pre-stain conditioner. I'll be putting some color to pieces tomorrow.

My son says I'm an artist :rotflol: :rotflol:
I don't think about it too much other than trying to figure out how to get to where I want to go. Although, I'll have to admit ...some of the stuff I make is pretty cool. Like the " Who's  Move Is It" I made for my Bride and I to keep track as we play chess.

It was really fun and now we can remember "who's move it is" ;D
