Hey Bob
Is it just an illusion from the photo that it’s rectangular and not square?
Or is it indeed rectangular because that’s what you were goin for?

BTW, nice work as always.

Of course it's a rectangle....it's going on the wall. The vertical spaces need to be taller than the pieces.

I worked up the Kings, Queens, Bishops and Knights today. The rook is making me think on this one as the pieces are all square. I'll work it out in the morning.

Tomorrow's my birthday. I'll see if a 68 year old brain pan can come up with a new idea

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Happy birthday Rg. Hope it's enjoyable!!  ;D
Do you think fish go home and lie about all the bait they stole?

Early to bed, early to rise
Fish all day and make up lies...

There's a reason they call it fishing, not catching.

Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes.
Very nice day!
A little work...if you can call it that....came home and putzed around in the shop finishing some parts for my Son's wall hung chess board. A pizza.......( crazy windy outside so no steak :-X).

But, all in all, a pretty calm day. Can't ask for much more at my stage of life.

Got all the pieces for my Son's board done today.

Glued up the board and shelves as well.

Should have it finished up tomorrow.

RG, would you welcome some pictures of a bird house my father and I have been working in this thread?

Alright, so my father is a master craftsman. He has the talent, and I just try to learn what I can from him. At any rate we have been working on a purple Martin house for some time. It is not finished yet, but after a lot of time and modifications it’s just about ready for paint.

We did the features on the gable ends today. Both of us are pretty happy with how it looks. Love to hear what everyone thinks. We’re going to paint it white and green.

Here are a few pics of the pre existing one my cousin bought, but never used. We put it on the top of dead cedar tree we planted into the ground. Had a few bluebirds, but then the squirrels got to it. Hopefully it will do better this time around after the face lift.

Very nice......I love the attention to detail. Bird houses are really fun to make. Especially when you see them in use.
