Nice idea never thought of that, I might use your idea, I have a 9 inch aluminum disc from a broken sander. I might adapt it to my lathe, thanks for the idea.

Don’t know what lathe you have but look into a Beall spindle tap.  They’re not a lot of money. Less than $30. You can tap waste blocks and such and screw them right on your spindle. An incredibly useful tool. Easy to use and will probably last forever. That’s how I made my discs. Don’t have to buy a collection of dedicated face plates at $40 each either.

Best part about the lathe for a disc sander is that it’s variable speed. I’ll most likely, never again, burn a piece of wood sanding. I’m going to sell my big belt disc sander.

If you need any other pictures of what I did for my platform, I’ll be happy to oblige.

Made a larger puzzle board for my Bride. It sits on top of her fixed board. It’ll store when she doesn’t need it.

She really loves doing puzzles and she’s really good at it.

Rg thanks for the advice, the beall spindle taps are out of stock right now. When I can get one I may take you up on the offer for pictures. Thanks for the advice, my lathe is a jet 1236, not the best but does the job. It has a variable speed transmission with a head that turns for outboard large bowl turning.

Your spindle should be a 1”-8tpi. Lee Valley has them in stock. $27+ shipping.

Yesterday I was puttering around in the wood shop and went into my tool chest to find a marking tool I had made. Took me 5 minutes to find it. Stopped what I was working on and tore the tool chest apart for the annual reorganization. Now I just have to remember what I put in each drawer.

Any time!
Whipped up a few suet feeders for out woodpeckers from some scram my neighbor gave me.

I make suet cups in small muffin cups. Easy to handle. The birds love them. I’ll hang them around tomorrow.

I’m sure that works well Dom.
Decided to paint them red white and blue.

Also decided to just use store bought suet cake. I remembered that the last try melted if the temps got over 50.

All our feathered family are well taken care of.
The bluebird feeder with meal worms and the heated water dish.

We use only Black Oil sunflower seed for all the other birds. Keeps the sparrows away

There’s a block of meal worm and sunflower hearts on top.

We love our feathered family.

Nice RG. I was up at my son's today putting my boat away for the winter (sad) but we were watching his bluebird family attack anything that got near his bluebird houses. Very territorial for this time of year. I'm wondering if they are storing meal worms in there since my sone is still feeding them. Chickadee landed on the house and was toast in 5 seconds.

As a side note, when I was emptying my car out with boat stuff a Tufted Titmouse flew into it from the back and we had to open the car doors to free it.

Bird is the word today.
