H2l is right this lake is hard to fish, there are times you can't keep fish off the hook, and times they are hard to catch. I have had 20 fish days and days I got skunked.  I think the change in water depth from them letting it out is a big factor. One week your in 20 ft. of water then next week it's only 15 ft. .

I agree with you, the level dropping is the biggest factor on this lake.  That 100% affects how fish move and set up in different areas, and when they can be in 20 feet of water, and then next week its 15, they have to keep moving, so you have to keep moving!  That is the irritating part, you can't really have a great "spot" to always go to, because the circumstances change so much.

My biggest issue is just getting on the fish, and to keep learning how to use my electronics.  I have a new Lowrance set up and I am still getting used to it.  I have yet to find a school of fish like the image that Bauls shared yesterday.  I will mark bait balls, but not schools of larger fish like that.

Might try to get out tonight for a few hours, we'll see what happens!  Thanks for all the tips everyone.

At least when the water cools down the pike fishing will pick back up, we always do well with them at least!

Figured out how to run 2 rods trolling spoons this morning without any tangles. Just found the fish as I was getting ready to go. Back to back doubles of 16-17” and I left with dinner.

Heading out tomorrow afternoon to the spot I did good last weekend to see if they are still there. Might try jigging them this time opposed to trolling

Fished with the wife tonight over off the point by sunset bay.  Marked some fish, came back thru trolling and jigging.   She hooked a walleye, then lost it right at the boat, and a decent rock bass.  At least we caught something!

Had 2 hits jigging that I missed also.

Going back out early tomorrow solo for a few hours, if anyone is fishing the southern end of lake let me know.  Good luck!
