H2l you can't expect to catch a ton of fish everytime. I think it has a lot to do with the water level dropping so fast. We experienced the same thing last time out. BBB Good work maybe the evening bite is better.

BBB, seems like the evening bite is the way to go. I have never had a problem catching walleyes during the day. I am finding the fish, just can't get them to commit. One thing I have noticed is there hasn't been many days with what I call a "good" wind. Lots of calm or very little wind during the day. Also, most years by late August I see some indications of a thermocline, none this year. That is due to HOT weather and very few cooling rainy days. Lots of baitfish, more than I have seen in a few years. On my way in I stopped at one of my old spots that hasn't produced much the past couple years and had a couple light hits so maybe next time. I don't think I used 6 worms yesterday. Have a great Labor Day weekend....h2l

Beerbellybob sounds like you have a hot spot. Are you jigging or trolling.

Bottom bouncing crawler harnesses .9mph, find shelf's that are 22-26 fow and fish the edges where it drops off to deeper water. When I find fish I try to stay on them most of the spots I'm only trolling 100yds reel up and turn back around  when they stop biting I keep going along the shelf until I find another school. Hope this helps

BBB, that sounds about right for this time of year. I may have to take up trolling again, I don't think I have trolled in 4 or 5 years....h2l

BBB thanks for that info, that's pretty much what I have been doing not quite as deep .9 to1.0 seems to be what they like. Will try deeper thanks.

Pretty sure I am done for the season. The launch isn't looking very good. Won't get the boat put away for another week or two...h2l

I might try one more time, didn't go this week my cousin was away and my sister was in the hospital. Maybe I'll give Saratoga a try.

Yep I think my season is done as well. The wife requested a trout fishing trip for our anniversary tomorrow so we're heading north with the Radisson for some brookies.

I will have to take a run down to the launch to see if anyone is fishing the contest today. I think the weigh in is at SIP this PM, I may check it out also....h2l

Fished yesterday afternoon until the sun went down. 6 keepers, 8 shorts. Steady action. Bottom bouncers 1 mph on channel edges.

I haven’t fished much this year. I do appreciate the posts here to keep me informed on what is going on for when I can go. One of the few places where good people share. Thanks fellas.

Launch was fine in Northville. No issues. Still plenty of water to use.
