Yes you read it right a 112% price increase just came in the mail. Its been in the news for a while but seeing our bill jump from $120 per month to $255 is a painful reality. This is awful for all the people that usd Eversource as their electric supplier. We dont have an option since they are the only provider delivering service in a majority of the state.
solar is not an option when your a senior on a fixed income with moderate retirement savings. I dont know what low income homes are going to do.
Looking forward to opinions

What's the reason given for the big jump?

The increase is New England wide, forced by a combination of COVID economic recovery, inflation, extreme weather impacting gas-producing states, and the ongoing war in Ukraine driving up prices for natural gas and oil.

What's the reason given for the big jump?

The reality is once Biden got elected he immediately shut down our ability to produce fuel. This action started a cascade of events that has lead to this. Putin and the war in Ukraine is an attempt to blame others for the Democrats actions. This increase can't occur without the PUC approval...

Same here in CT.  I hate Eversource.  When we had the tropical storm couple years back it was 5 days before trucks showed.  8 days till I had power restored.

I have heard about the eversource increase also and i was worried what might happen to me even though I have Unitil but my only increase was my own doing for using my AC most of august, my bill went from $70 to $90 which I totally expected. I too am on a fixed income and I hate to see what is yet to come with 2 more years of THIS administration, and the its not "our" fault excuses

39% of all electricity is generated from natural gas , so everyone’s bill will go up

Take a gander at an article from GRANITE GROK which is a NH CONSERVATIVE based entity on the web.
“THE REAL REASON EVERSOURCE RAISED THEIR RATES”
It’s an eye opener for sure.

Link to article in next post.
