« on: Mar 29, 2006, 09:54 PM »
hey guys, if any one needs info on Carr Lake, I had a place there for over 20 years . It was a very good place to learn how to fish natural small lakes. This lake is still good  except when its hot out.

Is this lake over by Claypool?  And if it is how do you get on it?

Do you have a place at Brown's? I bought a place several years ago but don't make it up very often

Turn east off 15 at Carr Lake sign, go over tracks and turn left at the "T". First right is entrance to Brown's "Resort" and next right is the public access. It has the DNR wooden public access sign at the turnoff to the access site. I don't know the names of the roads, but there are other ways to get to the access site.

Yes I had a place at Browns and talk to them often. Tom Day bought our trailer and moved it up on the hill to the south. Its black and white.  Jimmbob let me know where your place is.

I just noticed that a reply did not post. I messed up somehow. But Ill let you know that I did catch a northern out of there a long time ago and everyone freaked out. It was 32" and no one has ever caught any out of there. All I can say is that it was very tasty! The best fishing for us was always spring, early summer and fall. Lake really chokes up with moss when water gets warm during summer.I never have ice fished the lake but have heard it refered to as a secret spot. Crappie can be good and I have seen some dandy bass caught out there.Bluegill are abundant thruout the lake and i wish i could show some old pics of the catches of my childhood.
