Title: My nephews trip to Lebenon Indiana for the next 12 to 16 weeks
Post by: The Jigger on May 17, 2018, 12:05 PM
My nephew will be doing some contract work in Lebenon for the next 12 to 16 weeks and I told him I would try to find out about any fishing in that area. Any help would be appreciated.
 Thanks in advance.

Wow Thank you Indiana.
I wasn't looking for secret or hot spots. He is there for a few weeks only.
Just the species in the area and general fishable bodies of water.
I thought people from the Midwest were more sociable and helpful.

Dude, relax. There've been like 5 posts on this entire forum in the last several days. It's not terribly active.

I'm not super familiar with the Lebanon area but it's not far from the Indy metro area, which has Eagle Creek Reservoir, the White River, Morse Reservoir, and Geist Reservoir

Have your nephew call the local DNR fish biologist, he can give him a rundown of where to try

Have him check out Boones Pond.  I don't know how productive it is from shore.  I ice fished it many years ago.

We don't have the crazy number of fisherman on the Indiana site that y'all have, but were on the raise, if he makes it up to central northern Indiana, shoot me a pm, ill hook him up with the local bite brother!

Thank you for the info.
I know he is a big bass fisherman, where he does do tournaments and makes his own jigs. What species do you guys have out there other than bass.
Walleyes ,Stripers?

We have lots of species. Bass both LM and SM, walleye, sauger, saugeye, stripers, wipers(hybrids), white bass, northern pike, musky and the list goes on.  Finding his way to the Wabash or Tippecanoe Rivers might be good. Lots of species and if the water is right wading can produce a large variety.

not a lot of posters from that area i dont think for one.  also the net isnt like it used to be 10+yrs ago. too many leaches lurking around ready to pounce on and ruin spots.  most have enough sense not to post up lake names and such.  even sharing on PMs isnt a good idea either.  you never know who your talking to or what mod is ready them.

bottom line, the net is detrimental to fisheries.
