I've always used the RAM mounts to install my graphs, but last year I learned the hard way that the size C is no good for my new Helix 9. I have a bunch of these for all sorts of purposes, so I actually installed 2 arms and 4 ball mounts to hold it for the season. I think I need to make that less of a mess this year. So go to look at the price of the D size and wowzers, that ain't cheap. So if I'm gonna spend that maybe I should consider fancier options.
What do you guys like to use for the larger size graphs? I don't have a place to flush or panel mount, so it has to go in the corner of my console and I will probably need a long-ish arm. Just considering my options!

I used a ram mount for my old lowrance , 113c no problems
-
Jethro I'm dealing with the same thing... my helix 9 is mounted to the dash and I don't like it... looks like I've gotta bite the bullet and order the ram mount.. I dont see anything else I like

Those look nice but most definitely pricey

The Balzout are only slightly more money than the Ram D size with a medium arm which I actually ordered Monday. I spent $165 with the shipping. That was why I started this post, with the cost of that I might as well consider something "boutique".
Almost went with Traxstech since I have a whole lot of other stuff from them but I called and it's 4 to 6 weeks minimum. I've used Ram mounts for so many years... it'll be fine.

Geoff
I had the RAM D in my Lund with my HDS8 and it would slip. Especially coming home in rough water.
Get the good stuff!

I'll have to keep Scheels in mind for the future. For the medium arm and the large elec. mount it's $119 free shipping. Amazon the best I could find is $142 for the correct setup.

Well, kinda a funny/sad update... I have been waiting for the confirmation from RAM to come for the shipping and I don't believe I ever ordered it! I could have sworn I did but maybe I was a little buzzed that night on the computer, no charges on the credit card or any of my bank accounts. Yes, I'm a dummy. So back to the drawing board and I think I'm glad because I did some research and I think I'm going to try one from Russell Marine Products called the Versa mount. I'll let you all know how it installs when I get it HOPEFULLY this week.

That bracket looks like a good one... another you get what you pay for purchase! I currently have a Scotty bracket that's pretty as they say flexible... ;-) Something tells me you'll be very happy.

Yeah I like the set it and forget it style of that. I never need to adjust it, and if I ever take the graph off the boat I do it at the gimbal anyway. Anyway, hope it comes fairly quick, I need it this weekend!
-
I thought for sure we'd be seeing a salmon or 2 posted this week... next weekend for sure? ;)
-
That’s a very good mount Geoff.
A buddy has one and he likes it a lot.
No slipping!!

I know, it's pathetic. I actually got the boat completely ready this past weekend so no excuses this weekend.

Yeah I think it's a blessing in disguise I screwed up my RAM mount order. I like the looks of this one.

Ya 16' is a proper size to get F'd on those water bodies.

Don’t think 6”s on a boat makes that much difference on a rough ride 😜

This mount just came in yesterday, all excited to get it setup and installed but it's missing some of the hardware. I called the company and they told me to go to Fastenal because that is where they buy the bolts and washers. Gotta be honest, I know it's a trivial thing, buying a few stainless 3/8" bolts, but I may return this fu@#ing thing and blast these guys on Facebook about it. If it weren't $190 fu@#ing mount, or if they were willing to ship the bolts to me in some fashion like priority 3 day then I'd be fine. But now I need to take an hour of my week to go to the friggin' hardware store? Too bad, the mount looks amazing but that is bad for business.
@RussellMarineProducts... bad form, man!! Personally if it were my business I would overnight the correct hardware to someone.
Maybe I should just get over it.

My ram mount is scheduled to come In today..
Returning it is only going to cost you more down time with out graph the way you want.. and more frustration waiting on a new mount...
I think you'd prolly lose frustration and stress quicker if you went and bout the bolts... but by no means would I NOT chew their ass

Yeah I am over it now. But yes, I gave the kid on the phone a piece of my mind when he said the bolts would take 7-10 days.
It should be awesome when I get it all installed and I'll forget about the hardware at some point.

I'm good now, 99 cents at the hardware store got me what I needed and this Russell Marine Products mount is super nice. Got it all installed yesterday but it was dark when I finished so no pics but I'll snap some today.

Good god, I just now got a box from RAM Mounts. I guess I did order up that mount after all. So now I have this spare mount. I guess I need to buy another graph... :o
