Title: Went for Bass
Post by: fishercat on Oct 18, 2020, 01:50 PM
.... but we caught 12-14 of these.  Largest fish was 16 1/2 inches. The smallest was 12”  Nice that they’re stocking some quality fish. All Rainbows three kept for the smoker .

Nice fish man.  Do you brine overnight?  I smoke trout quite often and wonder how you prepare yours.  Looks like NEF is down.

Yes I do.  In a dry rub mixture of brown sugar and salt.

Lake I fished with my daughter was full of those bows, watching boats fish 4 feet from the launch for them made me laugh.

I find them mushy compared to browns after smoking.
