One of the brooks out of my pond
« on: Sep 25, 2019, 02:03 PM »
One of my smaller brooks was having some issues staying upright in the pond so I scooped it out and salvaged it. Not a mark on it. Once in a long while I get this but no idea why. Less than 1 percent of the fish so I don't lose any sleep over it.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this picture. Fish was getting there with the extended lower jaw but the spawning colors are just starting to appear. Some of my other brooks are quite red orange on the flanks already.

It is still a very pretty fish even if it doesn’t quite have its colors on quite yet!

Oh no I will sell it whole frozen! Too much money to eat it. It would be like flushing three 20 dollar bills down the toilet!  :o

This one won first place at the national level mounted by a taxidermist in Oklahoma (Mickey Bowman).

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
