Eyes and predators
« on: Aug 23, 2020, 11:08 AM »
I have posted about this many times; How "eyes" on lures are in many cases a deterrent and not an attractant. I often sight predator-prey studies that show how visible eyes help protect prey and here is another study just out;
Study confirms that painting eyes on cow butts helps ward off predators

Food for thought...

I dont know man. If i swam up on something with no eyes I'd say "somethings wrong with that fish, not eating it" and swim off lol.
But then again, Im not a fish. :D

What really lands fish is a fancy paint job on the topside of a topwater bait!

Funny, I've never had a problem with cow eye-butts attracting fish?
Maybe it's because I use those big-assed cow eyes.... ;D
