I could have cleaned more ;)

But, it'll do till next time. I should get a few trips in before the freeze out.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

A good rainy day project and a necessary staple in the freezer.  Should get us through.   :D

Good job on the perch Bob! And the carrots should be sweet as candy by now  ;) Pulled the last of the Hungarian Wax peppers. Just the Brussles sprouts left now.

Nice batch of carrots Bill. I'm envious. Had to buy a bag for chicken noodle soup today. Heaven knows where they come from.

But....the soup was great. Love soup and stew season.

They are nice and sweet. We use them a lot. Soups, stews, roasts, and fried up with polish sausage and sauerkraut.  ;D

If it ever stops raining here, I might get to do a final mowing and leaf pickup. I've only planted half of my garlic bed so far. I'm gonna order up some different varieties for the other half.

The asparagus is browning out so, I'll probably cut it down this weekend.

The little garden sure looks lonely.

Have any of you tried mulching your carrots and leaving them in the ground over the winter. The are sugar sweet when you diG them in the spring. The same goes for parsnips.

Might get a hard frost this week. Thursday night looks like it might hit the low 20's. I'm gonna buy some more garlic today and get it in the ground. Time to mulch over the strawberries and empty the last flower boxes as well. Fall seems to be here.

The German hardneck came from a vendor at the Fairport farmers market. There's a greenhouse near me that also has seed garlic.

crazy how some of the sources for seed garlic sell out, not sure about big box stores and how they have had it sitting around?

SM you dont nesserely need "seed" garlic to plant...
You can buy a big head at the grocery store and seperate the cloves and plant them..
I have planted garlic that was found sprouting in the refridgerator..  Just poke a hole 6 to 8 inches and drop in pointy side up.... ;)
