Haven't really thought to try vertical jigging in the river, will absolutely give that a shot.  

if you do end up trying it lead heads with sluggos have served us well in the past up here as well when jigging deaper water. good luck to ya post picks. those cows you caught already this year were sweet

yeah that was my buddies i couldnt get the hang of it and would lose fish on the jig drop hahah

Yeah the bailess took me a little bit to get used to...especially at night.  I love it now though, nice knowing that the bail can never slam shut and snap a 20 dollar plug off.
