Lake Thompson Update
« on: Apr 08, 2006, 10:25 AM »
Tried our luck at lake Thompson this morning around 7:00am-9:30am. We only managed one short salmon. Water was wicked choppy with around 3 foot swells. I was a bit nervous out in the little 12 footer. Thankfully we all made it home safely. I think i saw Jr.Relaxin and Linguini out there as well as Buddah. I dont know how those guys all did but a guy at the landing told me they had two 4-5lb salmon in the boat. Plus i did see a guy holding about a 3lb salmon as we were leaving.

Three quick questions for anyone that fishes it:

1. What type of steamer flies should i use
2. Should i drag it right on the surface as we troll?
3. How far down with lead core should i be going with a smelt?

the one guy said they were all up top but i dont know if that means right on the surface,  3 feet down or 5 feet down.   Just wondering what works for you guys???
Thanks

Hope you all made it home safely as it was might choppy.
