you close the bar the night before and are excited to wake up 3 hours later to go fishing.
I thought this might be a fun thread to see how addicted we all are.

After 30 minutes of sleep you get dragged to a truck because you're still not able to walk. And you "come to" on a rock in the middle of Salmon River puking up orange juice to the point where everyone downstream is running out of the river to avoid your chum slick. Several minutes later you're yelling "Fish on!" That day still hurts.
-
get in the car at 2 am to make the drive up to the pere marquette in febuary to catch one winter stealhead....after several hours on the river and no fish..you drive all the way back home, cold, wet , sick and planning to do it again on your next day off.

I could barley see out of one eye and couldnt stand up straight  but was out fishing. those are good times Glad I got up because thats when I cought the tourney leading crappie ;D look at my pic I look a little wasted ::)

you leave the milk on the counter to make room for the nightcrawlers in the refrigerator

same page as bwalleye.........When your vegetable crisper drawer has more bait in it than lettuce. And when your more worried about your egg sacs picking up the scent of onion in the refrigerator instead of vice versa.

Ya, that's one thing that the wife still hasn't gotten used to yet...

Extra fridge in the garage solves that one. Stocked with beer and bait.
I got another one : when you fish in 28 degree weather (on the boat) and see all forms of precipitation first rain then hail then snow and you are dealing with 30 MPH wind. But the crappies were biting good that day.
-
(speaking for the girlfriend here) when ya take an x-rap treble right between the toes past the barb.........cuz the boyfriend (me) left the three rigged rods on the floor and your walking around barefoot trying to clean up the boat (girlfriend)..........bolt cut the x-rap off the hook thats embedded in between the toes.......find the nearest doctor in Oneida........have it yanked, and head back to the launch to get out and finish what we started. lol

when you run your line out the door of the house, over the grass out to the dock, bait a hook with a golden shiner and a float, toss it in the river then go back to the house and fasten a bell on the tip of the rod, sit back and watch the NBA finals. :rotflol:

Where's the beer?
Next to the milk.....er...uh I mean crawlers ;D

When you keep buying rods and reels even though you have more in your garage than Gander Mountain does on their shelves. I just bought two noodle rods which brought my collection somewhere into the mid to high 30's as far as count goes; and thats for open water only- no ice rods included!

Been there. We used to fish the last week of walleye season in March out of a boat if the barge canal was open. We'd be in the boat catching eyes watching people a couple hundred yards away ice fishing.
As a kid fishing equipment didn't come cheep, so every year we would reverse the line on our reels. It was a three kid process. One kid would take the end of the line and walk down the sidewalk until all the line was out while a second kid held the rod. A third kid would ride the pole from one end of the line to the other on his bike, and then the line could be reeled in. One time a neighbor pulled out of their driveway and the line caught on their bumper, man what a mess.

Great thread chaser!
When you drive an hour and a half to watch the rain splash off the hood of your truck for two hours, then drive back to hear the "other" half go off because you went in the first place!
Or
When you drive two more hours the other direction to fish for a day and a half, only to find 20 plus mph winds and 7 foot rollers, but stay out and fish it anyway!

When I used to live on Squaw Lake I did the very same thing. Don't get caught doing that its an unattended tip up.

When you have had ice form in the eyes of your rod - while wading a river that is about 40 degrees. Your toes are numb, but you don't get out.
When it makes sense to drive four hours to fish for two - because you heard that's where the biting and you don't have time to stay longer.

Where I fish, the DNR cant get on the lake very easily, due to current. The canal is pretty hidden, but as soon as I see someone coming, I get out there. I just come in to warm up for 15 mins then im back out for panfish.
I was thinking of heading to squaw in two weeks, done any fishing there lately for a report?

I haven't fished there in about 3 years. Used to be pretty good fishing. PM me and I can give you some old info if you want

anything to make the moment last I guess.
Lets try not to get this one locked.

when you schedule 2 days of your 5 day hooneymoon for deep sea fishing and the wife doesn't care to fish. ;D maybe thats why we are divorced. ???
thats why i asked my present wife if she liked fishing before i asked her out for the first time. ;D
-

Hoooooold on a minute here.
I have one hard and fast rule in life. A man should never, ever, EVER, pass up sex to do anything else. I might have to rethink that a little bit.
I could tell my wife - if I'm sleeping and you are in the mood - wake me up! :-* If I'm watching the game - stop me. :-* If I'm fishing (or hunting) - leave me alone. :o
-
you blurt out "Thats a big Walleye!" in your sleep
Been there done that ;D
-
When you are fishing during sex..... happened to me in fish tourney once. Wife wanted to go to shore, I wanted both so all was OK ;)
Also when you go flyfishing and realize you left the flies at home so pull out the lint that has collected in your shorts or pockets of pants and tie a fly on the spot and catch fish with it.
Or if your halibut fishing and you realize you left the butt juice at home so you scrape the toe jam out between the toes and rub all over your lure.
Been there, done that ;D

TGF...tha........th.....tha...thats just not right ;) :rotflol: :rotflol:

you bed in you ice shack is more comfortable than your bed at home.
You bill at the bait/tackle and taxidermist is more than your monthly income.
