Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he'll sit around in a boat and drink beer with you.....

Lighten up! i'm forever 'giving fish' to friends who come fishing with me, i am fish king in my social group....its tough at the top! I want them to catch the biggest fish of their lives and have idiot grins.

 Its just a fish!!!!!!

It's not about the fish. It's the concept that his buddy didn't have the courtesy to even ask if he could catch the fish.

How did I miss this thread?  WOW  :o  Overreacting much?  I will say it's good thing most of you who are mad don't seem to live in CNY.  As King Perch mentioned the Salmon River, then you can add most of the spring shore fishing spots for pans, Bullhead spots, Eyes, through the ice Big Bay & Sandy Pond,  where often times the only way you could be fishing 100' away from a deadstick is if you leapfrogged over 4 other groups.  Personally when fishing with friends, if I'm away from a deadstick and see a bite, or they tell me there's one, my response is always " Well don't just stand there stupid, GRAB IT".  Then Geeze how do ya work out trolling?  I talk smack, & am very competitive fishing, however doesn't having tons of rules & expectations of friends complicate what's supposed to be enjoyable?
If ya really need a fish that bad, I'll give ya one, gezz.
I was berated for fishing & asked recently by a PETA type.  You don't keep fish do you?  I responded "No I don't like aquariums. I just treat them like a quick haircut, & take a little of the sides"

Both parties could be in the wrong here, OP for not having his rod(s) under immediate supervision, and the other one for having to many rods. Lets be real here, its only fishing. Lighten up. Life is far too short to get bent over something as meaningless as this.

STILLLLLL GOING!! :cookoo:--KP 8)

KP how did i miss this ,funny stuff ,first if this man doesn't like what is going on then all i can say is pull up his skirt and tell his bud not to do it again , pretty simple stuff, me i wouldn't be 100 ft away from my equipment anyway, and buy the way my wife is the only one other than me to touch my pole ,but if i was busy and my fishing rod gets a bite my fishing partner can catch it thats why we there is to catch fish right ?or you can fish alone
