Thats exactly what I rigged up.  A sliding 2 hook rig for live bait.
I am looking forward to trying it out.
Any recommendations on how big of a shiner to use?

I wouldnt go past medium.  Smelt there are small.  If you want salmon trolling id go up 10 exits...thats rough with the derby.  Its a ghost town in December and thats when I like to go before ice up after the lakers spawn.

Also the lake will not have flipped yet so I wouldnt fish super deep or shallow.  If you can mark the thermocline on your finder you want to troll where that thermocline meets structure.
