Marathon canning session this afternoon.

18 pints, 10 half pints of mild, medium and hot salsa.

My neighbors sampled the salsa and gave it a big OK! Have to do pickles again later this week. Canning up the goodies will see me through till next spring.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

You won't have room in the basement for the little wood shop!   :w00t:
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

I am about to come into an abundance of cherry tomatoes. I am going to attempt to pickle them, with onion, sweet peppers and garlic. May even thrown in a couple pieces of jalapeņos in each jar to spice it it up a little.

That, and some cayenne hot sauce are on the agenda for tomorrow evening, after grilling some chicken on the Weber.

I threw an air conditioner in the kitchen window. Worked out just fine. Doesn't take too long to do pints and half pints.

Had some scrambled eggs for breakfast with the medium salsa on top. Very yummy!

By the way, I bought a couple pairs of silicone BBQ gloves off eBay for $7 a pair. They work great for canning and BBQ. Didn't have to use the bottle grabber thing at all. I highly recommend them.

Pretty much like these.

Used up the cherry and grape tomatoes. Pickled them with green pepper, onion, garlic, fresh dill and green beans to fill it. Apparently it was full enough

Also made some cayenne hot sauce. Looking forward to trying it on some grilled wings soon

Looks like Sunday is pickle day. Checked the garden this morning to find yet another nice crop. Pulled a nice zucchini that we had breaded and fried with a pasta dish I made this evening. My last planting of radishes bolted with the silly heat we've had lately, so, I'll pull them and plant another round after next week's 90+ heat again.
