What I did at lunch today?
« on: Jun 10, 2004, 03:22 PM »
I had a little spare time while I was home for lunch today and decided to tackle some fishing related activities and this is what I came up with.  I love tying up these spinner rigs.  So many purdy colors and so many thoughts of the big walleyes that they will catch.  It's amazing how much you can do in 20 minutes starting with snelling a few hooks and sliding some beads and clevises on there and presto!   Just add water, a boat, walleyes and you're in business. ;)

I see you use a different kind of hook for the top one, is there a method to your madness for that or are you just using whatever hooks you have on hand?  I've always used the same hooks top and bottom and I was just wondering if I'm missing out on something.  I've also never tried the colored hooks before, do the help?

Thanks for sharing Slipbob. I think everyone would like to be able to do some of their own jig and spinner making, but may be unsure just where to start.  ;)

The problem is I'm going walleye fishing afterwork tonight and I can't decide which rig to start with.  They all look so good.

Aww heck, just tie 'em all on and give her a cast out there!  Offer those eyes an entire smorgasboard with one fell swoop!  Let them decide which they prefer the best!  ;D

Slipbob,
Is that the Cabelas kit? If so, what do you think of it? Is it well ballanced? Or is there a lot of excess on some parts and shorts on others? I was thinking about getting one, but sometimes those kits are not worth the money.

Nice job, those are some nice spinner rigs. Love to start doing that.

Is this the kit your talking about, pretty good for the price. I buy all my goods in bulk and get the beads from my girls, they got them all over the house!
