Another boat work day today.
Got up at 5 and went out to the lake place for some boat parts I needed that were in my shed out there.
Anyway, I just grabed 2 porterhouse steaks out of the freezer for dinner tonight.
Jeff is coming over to help.
One steak for him, the other for Donna and I.
We will toss a salad for with them and I have one lonely potato in the fridge I'll bake up for Jeff.

I like working on the boat as much as fishing out of it.
Also, going on Erie and Ontario requires everything to be working and safe.  Otherwise you can get into big trouble.
I’ve been fishing those two lakes since the late seventies and I don’t take chances.
Besides, it’s more fun when things work and go smoothly.  No surprises!  Or at least minimize your surprises.

That’s how I did it. I think next time I will pre cook the bacon some. It took too long to Cook the bacon and the asparagus got softer than I like it. I usually do it with prosciutto or pancetta but wanted to try bacon. The thin stuff works good because it cooks quick.

Man...I can’t wait for my asparagus to get a bit bigger. That sounds really good. Especially with prosciutto.

The stalks I have coming up are 3/4” in diameter. Just picked up some nice angus strip steaks too.

It’s probably my favorite way to eat asparagus. Although prosciutto tends to get a bit pricey...drizzle some olive oil on them to keep things lubed up.
I’ve been picking asparagus for about a week. Well, what I have left after the Vols took their share. My new crowns came in and I will be planting them this afternoon. Just have to remember I can only pick the ends of my patch for the next 2 years.
