« on: Apr 04, 2008, 10:25 AM »
Anybody use braid for leaders?
Thinkin like fireline crystal in a heavier line class?  30 to 40lbs.
Just thinkin steel might take away action on jerkbaits.  just a thought.

Titanium leaders!  Malin Boa No Kink!  or steel if you have to....  All others can be cut by Pike teeth...why risk it.   Pike aren't that picky either, you'll have plenty of action on a steel leader...

Good Fishing!

braid is no better than mono, toothy fish still bite through it.  I break off pickerel and pike all the time fishing plastics on braid.
shut up and fish

I use braid on all my crankbaits and have not been bitten off yet. I use mono when jigging or throwing topwaters and spinnerbaits. I fish the river mostly so that water is a bit stained as we all know. When I fish clearer waters I'll switch to mono or flouro.
