ever made a homemade rod holder

Im trying to figure out a way to make a clamp on rod holder, has anyone ever done this? got pics? thanks
When in doubt just go fishing.....

dont have it any more, but get a C clamp, hose clamp and 1" 1/2 tubing.
cut out a slot for your rod and 2 slot for the hose clamp, attach to the c clamp and voila
