February is national bird feeding month. Help your feathered friends.
Keep your feeders filled.

That's a lot of blackbirds, I saw our first red wing the other day. Finches dominate our feeders all winter. The goldfinches are starting to change color.

Yup they will be bright yellow soon.
We used to call them flying dandelions when way back in the day.
Long story short we were going down a dirt road and one of the girls said look at all the pretty dandelions along the side of the road. Until we got close and they took flight..
Flying dandelions…

Yeah, stupid starlings. I had to stop putting out meal worms for the bluebirds. They’d clean out the feeder in an hour. They can’t eat the black oil sunflower seeds. So that’s pretty much all I feed.

No starlings here. Lots of stupid squirrels, gray and red, lots of blue jays, cardinals, junkos, titmouce, chickadees and lots of woodpeckers. Have had 3 different kinds of peckers out there at once…

Not any more. I stopped putting out meal worms. Bluebirds are still around for water and keeping track of their house.
