BC Bows (Updated June 8)
« on: May 11, 2007, 09:42 PM »
All on the fly; half on leeches, half on chironomids. All but 2 released. Landed about 40, hooked around 60. Averaged 15" with a handful pushing 21-22"

Keeper

Throat slashes.....some rainbows have them too...

Big one with wicked colour

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.

I take all of my own pics. Usually fish by myself.

A chironomid is a midge or mosquito larvae. This is the fly I use to imitate them, it is a size 14.

Yup. I have recetly been trying to use them "natural" using a greased leader which keeps the fly at the right depth. But most (>90%) use them under a small cork indicator.

Beautiful pics man...  I try and take my own and.....needless to say there not as good....anyway..

Here in Montana we have the same type of hybrid rainbows with the cutthroat marks under the chin and we call them Cutbows.  MT FWP says they are a naturally occuring hybrid....

You ever fish for Kamloops Rainbows(Green Backs)?  I'd love to see some of your photography on those babies!!!

Good Fishing!
