So I was just minding my own business, trolling for bluegill... and BAM!  Something large grabbed one of my little spinners.  It ended up being a big pike, which created some interesting problems given that I was using bluegill tackle in my canoe by myself with a small landing net!  After the fish tired out I paddled in toward shore, hoping to beach my canoe so that I could more easily land it.  When I got closer in the pike got a 2nd wind and started heading for the weeds, so I decided to try out my little net.  I was able to fold it into the net just long enough to get it into my canoe.  I paddled into shore, measured it, took a couple quick pics, and released it to swim again.  At 34", it was my new Indiana personal best.  That was a bit more excitement than I'd been planning for, but it was fun to get pulled around!

Nice fish sounds like a great battle
